Move Over, Pup Cups — Krispy Kreme Is Selling Doughnuts for Dogs

Dog owners love their pets so much they’d give them anything and everything, from belly rubs to chew toys, and now, to even a box of doughnuts.

In celebration of National Dog Day on August 26, Krispy Kreme will be selling limited-edition doughnuts made for man’s best friend. The treats, which are actually round biscuits that resemble the company’s classic pastries, are six to a pack and come in various flavors including strawberry with sprinkles.

Take note that the choco doughnut is not actually made of chocolate, but rather, made of a substitute called carob. So, no need to worry about unexpected vet visits.

In addition, Krispy Kreme assures fur parents that the Doggie Doughnuts are baked, not fried, and that the treats are suitable for canines of all sizes, ages, and breeds. They’ve also published a list of ingredients here, as well as an FAQ, so you can check if you have other concerns.

According to the company, the pastries debuted in Australia last year with much success. Now, it’s finally arriving in the U.S. so we can celebrate our good boys and girls on their special day. 

“Our dogs have given us so much love and comfort to help us through these last couple of years. They deserve this special treat,” Dave Skena, global chief brand officer for Krispy Kreme, said. “On National Dog Day this Friday, give your furry friend something pawsome.”

The limited-edition doughnuts will be available at Krispy Kreme in-store or via drive-thru starting August 26 until supplies last.
