Did you know that Apartment Therapy’s founder is also a furniture designer? Last year, as part of his continued collaboration with Interior Define, Maxwell created Ms. Chesterfield, a modern take on the classic Chesterfield sofa. It kept the Chesterfield’s iconic form but replaced some of its stodgy (and uncomfortable!) trappings with more streamlined details.

It was a hit. And now the Chesterfield family has grown to include the Ms. Chesterfield chair, which packs all the old-meets-new charm of the sofa into a slightly smaller package.

If you love modern design, but also crave a little of the coziness and warmth of more traditional styles, the Ms. Chesterfield chair is an excellent meeting of both worlds. With its traditional tufting and elegant, low-slung shape, it has a versatile style to suit pretty much any kind of interior.

The proportions of the chair are quite generous, which means that you’ll have plenty of space to stretch out. The back is designed to be just the right height for maximum comfort, and the tufting, which consists of a soft layer of foam over springs that provide a gentle give, means that the chair is comfy but will always maintain its shape—no loose cushions to fluff or rotate.

And we haven’t even mentioned our favorite thing about Interior Define: the way every single one of their products can be customized to fit your needs and style. Options for the Ms. Chesterfield chair include a plethora of different legs in finishes to suit any space and an enormous array of fabric choices in pretty much any color you can imagine.

Pink velvet? They’ve got that. A more practical gray in kid-friendly fabric? They’ve got that, too. And there’s no upcharge for any of the customizations. Choose your options on the Interior Define website, and the model of the chair will update to show you exactly what your piece will look like—it’s pretty neat.

If the idea of ordering online makes you a little antsy, you can see the products in person at one of Interior Define’s Guideshops, or download an app to see what they’ll look like in your space. And shipping and returns are free, so you can buy with confidence.

The Ms. Chesterfield chair is now available from Interior Define. Head on over there and create yours!
