There’s busy, and then there’s Jaime and Anjay: The couple just bought a new home near Culver City, California, and sold their old one. Anjay, who works in the entertainment industry, just started a new job. Oh, and Jaime, who works in finance, is just weeks away from giving birth to their second child, a little sister to two-year-old son Nolan. “We’re trying to land a lot of planes,” Anjay said. Uh, yeah.

With so many major milestones happening at once, they needed a simple way to make their new house feel like the special home—for four—that it’s becoming. We had a couple ideas.

With a lineup of beautiful Benjamin Moore paints, we set out to make Jaime and Anjay’s new home welcoming from the second they came home with baby number two. And that “I can’t wait to go inside” feeling? It starts at the front door.

“The front door and the patio set your first impression of what the home is,” Jaime said. “And if you’re excited about it, you’re excited to see the rest of the house.”

We went bold and cheerful, echoing the couple’s bright personality with Deep Rose Aura Grand Entrance Satin, a stand-out shade that pops against the home’s gray exterior. We used Aura Grand Entrance for the door since it’s designed to retain color and resist fading. Which is kind of important when you’re living in sunny Culver City.
