These Are 2022’s Most Popular Sofa Colors
A sofa is often the biggest and most essential element of a living room, making it also the hardest choice when shopping for one. You’re going to want to love it for a long time, so picking a color can be difficult.
U.K.-based furniture retailer Swyft Home shared a study on the most-searched sofa colors of 2022. The most popular, perhaps unsurprisingly, is gray.
Ben White, design and trade specialist at Swyft Home, explained why gray topped the list: “Gray is a likely a slightly more popular sofa color choice as it’s the most versatile of all the neutral colors. This allows homeowners to change up the colors of their living room more often (if they like to redecorate) by introducing different accessories and wall colors, at a lower cost than replacing large pieces of furniture.”
In second and third place are green and blue, respectively. This is possibly due to the pandemic, since being indoors more often has made people want to introduce more natural colors and textures into their homes.
In the fourth spot is pink, a color that in recent history has been feminized, but is now used to add bold accents to a space. In fifth place, meanwhile is cream, a neutral color that can add warmth and a bit of formality.
