Nate Berkus Tried The Viral “Sushi Roll” Method of Putting a Duvet Cover On — Here’s What He Thinks
If you’re the owner of a duvet, then one of your most hated chores simply must be putting the duvet cover back on the duvet. And the larger the duvet size, the more challenging this chore becomes. Nate Berkus (the proud owner of a Nate Home duvet and duvet cover) just tried out the viral “sushi method” for putting a duvet cover back on and his life has changed forever. If you’ve never tried it, today is the day.
“Success with the sushi roll method… WHO KNEW,” Berkus captioned a March 7 Instagram post. “I’m mind blown.”
“I’ve watched this video 55 times,” he says in the video. “It’s the sushi roll on how to put a duvet cover on your bed easily. It feels like I’m cheating at algebra right now, but I’m gonna give it a try.”
The first step in the sushi roll method is to turn your duvet cover inside out. Then, lay your duvet on top of the cover and, if applicable, tie the ties in the place. Starting at the closed end, roll the duvet cover and duvet up into a sushi roll shape. When it’s completely rolled, stuff the roll into the open end of the duvet cover and zip or button the cover closed. Then, unroll the sushi and your bed is made!
“Wait, wow. The bottom is actually at the bottom,” Berkus says in the video. “Mind blown…All I have to do is button it. The sushi roll. It actually works.”
Here’s another video you can check out if you need more visual aid when trying out the sushi method yourself.
Maybe putting the duvet cover back on the duvet doesn’t have to be your least-favorite chore, after all!
