These Are the Most In-Demand Travel Destinations for 2022, According to TikTok
If one of your favorite pastimes is to get lost in a TikTok travel vortex, you no doubt appreciate the sheer volume of wanderlust-inducing inspiration found in every corner of the viral video app. So it’s no secret that plenty of users are looking to TikTok to help plan future trips or simply just dream about uncharted destinations far and wide, as there’s nothing quite as convenient as scoring planning tips and travel hacks aplenty all in one place.
Curious about the top travel destinations in the world according to TikTok? The travel experts at Next Vacay compiled a comprehensive study detailing the top bucket list travel experiences for 2022 based on weather, crowds, Trip Advisor review score, affordable accommodations, and, of course, popularity on TikTok. The researchers note that searches for ‘travel TikTok videos’ have soared by a whopping 350 percent in the past year, making it abundantly clear that users are looking to the app for all their travel needs.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, top honors goes to the most magical place on earth, with Walt Disney World serving as the most popular attraction in 2022 thanks to 8.6 billion views on TikTok. With 20 million visitors every year and a 4.5 star rating on Tripadvisor, Disney’s popularity among travelers seemingly hasn’t slowed a bit, even as record crowds and price hikes have caused some fans to feel slighted by the theme parks these days. Next Vacay recommends booking a trip to the Florida parks during the winter — though crowds will likely still be high, the promise of slightly cooler temps can make things feel more bearable than the stifling southern heat and humidity throughout the rest of the year.
Not into theme parks? No problem at all — there’s no shortage of diverse offerings around the globe that TikTok users can’t stop searching for, encompassing natural wonders, breathtaking views, or unmatched architectural wonders. Rounding out the top 10 list is the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, UAE, which had 1.9 billion TikTok views; the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France with 719,600,000 views; the Taj Mahal in Agra, India with 377,400,000 views; Arizona’s Grand Canyon with 273,200,000 views; Nevada’s Las Vegas strip with 259,700,000 views; California’s Golden Gate Bridge with 118,400,000 views; Nevada’s Hoover Dam with 68,800,000 views; Yosemite National Park in California with 59,600,000 views; and Stonehenge in Salisbury, England with 51,800,000 views.
