Here’s the Resort Where “Ticket to Paradise” Was Filmed

Throughout their respective careers, George Clooney and Julia Roberts have worked together numerous times — on films like “Ocean’s Eleven” and “Ocean’s Twelve”— with the latest collaboration being “Ticket to Paradise,” a romantic comedy that has already surpassed $140 million at the box office, worldwide. The film also stars Kaitlyn Dever, Maxime Bouttier, Billie Lourd, and Lucas Bravo. And while “Ticket to Paradise” mainly takes place in Bali, it was not actually filmed there, but in Australia.

One key filming location is the Palm Bay Resort, located in Long Island, part of the Whitsundays Islands in Queensland, Australia. It features its own private cove, as well as 25 villas, suites, and houses, including six one-bedroom beachfront bungalows, one two-bedroom beachfront bungalow, four one-bedroom beachfront bures, three serenity bures, six beachfront villas, two hillside hibiscus suites, one platinum house, one ocean view bure, and one ocean view house.

Additionally, events, weddings, and corporate functions can be held at the resort, for up to 60 people at a time. 

Two homes and two suites at Palm Bay Resort boast views of both the Whitsunday Passage and Coral Sea, while all rooms have ensuite bathrooms and decks complete with a hammock. Additional room amenities and facilities for each and every resort room include reverse cycle air conditioning, a bar fridge, complimentary tea and coffee, a dining area, linen and towels, hairdryer, and toiletries.

The resort’s bar, known as the Bar Palm Bay, offers various kinds of cocktails, beers, wine, cider, and spirits, many of which are on the happy hour menu, available most evenings at sunset.

Palm Bay Resort also presents a range of island activities, such as scuba diving, fishing, swimming, snorkeling, and water sports. 

Other filming locations for “Ticket to Paradise” include Haslewood Island, Hamilton Island, Moreton Island, and Tamborine Mountain, according to Condé Nast Traveller.
