I am rarely in one place for very long — give me a day off and I’m outta here (well, once I finish writing this story). My husband and I just really love traveling and exploring whenever we can, and we often get restless if we’re not planning our next getaway, whether it’s a weekend road trip to Maine or a week-long adventure in the jungles of Costa Rica.

Quick Overview

What’s to Love About the Veken Packing Cubes?

The 8-piece Veken Packing Cubes can help compress clothes so you can save some space in your suitcase for souvenirs. They’re durable and versatile, and are on major sale during Amazon Prime Day for just $16.99, down from the original $29.99.

However, one of my least favorite things about traveling is packing. It’s stressful and I constantly overpack, which stresses me out even more. If I had to choose between the absolute essentials versus the items that are nice to have, I won’t — I’ll just find a way to shove everything into my carry-on and just hope it doesn’t burst open as it goes through security.

That’s why I’ll be adding this set of packing cubes to my Amazon Prime Day wish list ahead of some upcoming trips to France, Italy, and Mexico this year.

What’s So Great About the Veken Packing Cubes?

The 8-piece set comes with four packing cubes for clothes, a cosmetics bag, an accessories pouch, a laundry bag, and a shoe bag. The variety of bags are handy for organization and versatile for any type of trip I’d take, whether it’s a multi-city trip in Europe or a leave-me-here-forever resort vacation.

The packing cubes offer compression so you can fit more clothes into each bag, as opposed to just putting all your clothes in your suitcase. There’s also a bit of stretch in the polyester and mesh materials, so you can get away with overstuffing them, too — hey, we’ve all been there! Once the packing cubes are all zipped up, it’s like a little game of Tetris to see how they’d fit into your luggage.

The accessories pouch will undoubtedly double as a clutch for dinner because even though I’ll pack two pairs of sunglasses and jewelry that I never wear, I’ll always forget to bring a purse. The laundry and shoe bags are also particularly handy — I usually reuse plastic bags with holes at the bottom and ultimately get my suitcase sandy or wet because my swimming and snorkel gear didn’t fully dry before my flight.

With the exception of the accessories and laundry bags, each bag has an easy-to-grab handle and easy-to-find zippers so even if you need to rearrange your suitcase at the airport, you can pull out the packing cubes easily.

At $16.99 during its Prime Day sale, it means that each bag is just a little more than $2. Even if I just use them once before the year ends, I’ll feel like I got my money’s worth. And if I don’t use all eight bags during the same trip, I’ll probably bring the extras along “just in case” — see what I mean about constantly overpacking?
