Your Favorite Colors, Room by Room
Back in April, with the launch of Color Search 3.0, we introduced the new Search by Room tool which lets you pick a palette and specify a room to find color inspiration from our House Tours. After a few months (and thousands of Color Searches) we were curious to boldly go where no Color Searcher has gone before! We dove into all that data to see what the most popular Sherwin-Williams® Color Searches have been, room by room.
Kitchens
We never would have guessed it, but your most popular kitchen searches all include many different shades of green and green-blue. SW 6494 Lakeshore, SW 6477 Tidewater, and SW 9046 Gentle Aquamarine all make appearances in the top kitchen searches and are usually complemented by tasty shades of light brown like SW 9092 Iced Mocha and SW 9102 Quinoa.
Living Room
Pops of pink dominate your living room searches. And we totally see why. Shades like SW 6862 Cherries Jubilee and SW 6570 Haute Pink make for bold accents and cheerful spaces in one of the home’s most convivial spaces. If you’re new to attention-grabbing colors like these, the Color Search tool is helpful for looking at all these uses of bright pink side-by-side so you can gauge just how much (or how little) of a bold color your own living room could handle.
Bathroom
Are you ready for this? Believe it or not, shades of yellow and gold take center stage in the most popular bathroom searches. Not electric or lemon yellow, by any means, but warm and mellow shades like SW 6669 Yarrow, SW 6368 Bakelite Gold, and SW 6678 Sunflower. Our favorite uses of these shades are in bathrooms with subway tile, wooden accents and vintage fixtures for an overall warm, retro feel.
