You want your bedroom to be a restful space, but that doesn't mean it has to be boring. If your sleeping space needs a bit of a pick-me-up, try one of these 15 easy styling tricks

Above: Create a gallery wall on top of a painted wall mural, because you can never have enough art.

Hang string lights above your nightstand in lieu of a lamp.

Try an extra-low nightstand (this works best with an extra-low bed).

A grouping of frames that fills the entire wall behind the bed makes a lovely statement in a small room.

A flag hung behind the bed makes a big statement.

Try two chairs at the end of the bed instead of a bench (although maybe don't place teacups on them unless you're very, very careful about where you sit).

Drape an interesting textile over the back of your bed.

Instead of hanging a statementy piece of art directly over the bed, create some interesting asymetry by hanging it low over the nightstand.

If you have the room, why not try two nightstands instead of one?

Create a canopy to give your bed a little extra prescence.

Lean a few pieces of art on top of an extra-thick headboard.

This one's even wide enough to serve as a ledge for storing reading material.

And if you're especially fond of reading in bed, why not swap your headboard out for a bookcase?

Instead of placing lamps on tables on either side, hang a single wall-mounted lamp above the center of the bed.

An oversized mirror right behind the nightstand will add a little drama to any bedroom.
