The pros at HouseFresh used Tripadvisor data to determine which gardens around the world are the most beautiful of all based on — you guessed it — how many times the word “beautiful” appeared in reviews from real visitors. Not only did they compile a list of the most picture-perfect gardens in each U.S. state, but they determined the top 10 list from gardens around the world for those who have plenty of wanderlust and are ready to pack their bags and soak up nature in places they’ve yet to discover.
Taking top honors is the gorgeous Gardens by the Bay in Singapore, a 250-acre nature park that includes three waterfront gardens and is also home to the largest glass greenhouse in the world. The marina bay area park boasts 12,385 mentions of the word “beautiful” by Tripadvisor reviewers.
In second and third place, respectively, you’ll find Jardin Majorelle in Marrakech, Morocco, and Luxembourg Gardens in Paris, France. Perhaps surprisingly, the first U.S.-based pick comes in fourth place with 5,708 mentions of “beautiful” in reviews. The vast, 14,000-square-foot Bellagio Conservatory and Botanical Garden receives high praise for its ever-changing seasonal displays that are switched up four times per year by 120 horticulturalists, engineers, and designers. Spanning 56.8 acres, the gardens include more than 10,000 floral displays split into French gardens and English gardens — and despite being situated straight in the Mojave Desert, visiting year-round is pleasant thanks to this fully indoor space.
Though much of the list features international gardens, Boston Public Garden rounds out the top 10. As the country’s first public botanical garden, this lush oasis includes more than 600 varieties of flowers and trees that change with the seasons, making it a gem to visit no matter what time of year you might be in Beantown.
