“We found this home sight unseen while browsing for places living in Jersey City.  It took us a few months of searching for something remotely, which was a bit stressful,” begins interior designer William Hutton. who shares this home with his husband, Kevan Loney, and their pets, dog Finnegan and cat Sage.

“We were drawn to the character of the 100-year-old bungalow — huge fireplace, built-ins, original kitchen, barreled ceiling, and windows on every wall. We’ve lived here for two years and our goal, when moving in, was to create a layered, comfortable home after the roller coaster of driving cross country to start our new life in LA.”

William says trying to create “a high-end look on a low-end budget while dealing with renter-friendly solutions.” He and Kevan were able to get this accomplished by doing a lot of thrifting at flea markets, and looking on Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist, as well as working with some existing pieces. “
