Tell us a little (or a lot) about your home and the people who live there: At 28 years old, I never would have thought I would be living and traveling full-time in a 7×16 box with my husband and three dogs. But, our little 112-square-foot cargo trailer tiny home has turned into the home of my dreams.

I am an organized wanderer. I like to know where all my things are and be able to come home after a day of exploring and have everything I need at a moment’s notice. It can be hard when you live tiny. Everything gets tossed around on travel days. My cargo trailer tiny home is organized chaos. When you live in 112 square feet with your husband, two dogs, and a wolfdog, it gets messy real quick.

What is your favorite room and why? The kitchen area. I love to cook, so designing a space where I could create was important for me. We found all of our kitchen cabinets at a Habitat for Humanity, sanded them down, and painted them a beautiful teal color. We used a butcher block countertop and sealed it with epoxy resin. It was fun building a space from scratch and putting my personal style into it.

What’s the last thing you bought (or found!) for your home? Since we live so tiny, we do not have an oven. Instead, we bought a Coleman camp oven, and that is what I primarily cook with. I was intrigued to have found a camp oven that pops up and allows you to bake! I didn’t have high hopes but decided to give it a try. To my surprise, it works like a charm. I can bake banana bread, cinnamon rolls, and brownies.

Any advice for creating a home you love? Pinterest is your best friend! When I realized I could create my own tiny home from scratch, I was very indecisive. My best tip is to create a board on Pinterest with all your favorite designs. Narrow down your options and incorporate them into your space!
