Hold onto your Razzles, because one Reddit user has made a shocking discovery about the apartment in the classic rom-com “13 Going on 30”. One of the most memorable moments in the film was when Jenna Rink (Jennifer Garner) wakes at age 30 in her NYC apartment, with no recollection of how she jumped 17 years into the future. While the apartment is memorable by its glitz and glam, eagle-eyed Redditor RusticPumpkin noticed a lesser known but very impactful detail that revealed the design inspiration behind it all.

In one of the earlier scenes set in 1987, the Redditor pointed out that 13-year-old Jenna can be seen reading a feature in her favorite fashion magazine Poise, with the headline “30, Flirty & Thriving.” In the article, a woman is photographed perched on the yellow accent chair in the living room area of her apartment. Fast-forward to 2004 and there’s 30-year-old Jenna, waking up in her

Since it was posted, the Reddit thread has gained over 400 comments from movie fans. “Good catch though OP, I would not have picked up on that if I had watched this film on a loop for a year,” one said, while another replied: “This movie was so well-done with the attention to detail.”

While some users are speculating that the similarities may be a result of budgeting and using the same set rather than intentional continuity, once you have noticed they are there, the similarities of both apartments are hard to miss. The furnishings are all extremely aligned, right down to the polka-dot cushions, the bowl of citrus fruits on the table, and even the blinds on the windows, but the most striking similarity in the room is the vibrant yellow accent chair that both women can be seen sitting on.

The only major difference between the two apartments are the wall colors; the apartment pictured in Poise magazine has beige walls while Jenna’s look to be an off-grade shade, with a blue focal wall.

The New York apartment may have been Jenna’s dream in 2004, but if it’s still your dream today, you can get a yellow chair similar to Jenna’s to make it more of a reality.
