Why we have a crush on this property
Natural light can be hard to come by in crowded city digs, but this Washington, D.C. townhome suffers no such plight. Throughout all of its four levels, sunshine pours through glass sliding doors, transom windows, and floor-to-ceiling exposures. Plus, bright white walls and recessed lighting amplify the daylight.
The residence offers tons of contemporary value, from the kitchen updated with stainless appliances and illuminated cabinets, to hotel-like bathrooms, to not one but two sets of stacked Bosch washer and dryers so you wouldn’t even have to trek up the floating staircase to put in some laundry.
My personal favorite feature, though, is an architectural detail that’s been there since the home’s construction in the early 1960s. The barrel roof of the building means that the upper floor boasts gorgeous rounded ceilings and arched windows that make the luminous space feel even more majestic.
As for outdoor amenities, though it’s only a mile and a half from downtown attractions the Smithsonian, the townhouse claims a spacious private patio, and the co-op includes a pool, fitness center, playground, and picnic area.
The home is listed for $699,900 by Andy Peers and Taylor Carney with Compass.
