Tell us a little (or a lot) about your home and the people who live there: I was searching for an affordable studio apartment in Brooklyn that was a new construction with modern and brand new fixtures and appliances. I found this small modern studio with a kitchenette for $1600. Although the apartment has a mini fridge and no oven, I am able to cook full meals with my toaster convection oven and built-in hot plates on the counter.

What is your favorite room and why? My favorite part of the space is the settee nook. I knew I couldn’t fit a sofa in the apartment, so I found a very comfortable settee and added a small accent table that can hold a book, a TV remote, a drink or even a plate of food, which makes the space multifunctional.

What’s the last thing you bought (or found!) for your home? My favorite addition to the apartment is the removable Anthropologie Thin Air Wallpaper. I wanted to keep the furniture and decor in my apartment very minimal and simple as not to crowd the small space, so I thought I’d add a fun wallpaper to add a small hint of color and decoration to the apartment.

Any advice for creating a home you love? My advice for creating a home your love is to not be afraid to experiment, take risks, and be true to yourself. Risks don’t need to come as buying a obscure piece of art or using bright and crazy colors. It can come in other ways like trying to make a very small space feel comfortable and luxurious, and attempting a DIY project you’re not sure will work.
