Tell us a little (or a lot) about your home and the people who live there: This duplex is 174 years old. It has a lot of original character and some surprises. This is actually the home I grew up in and have moved in and out of over the years, as my father now uses it as a rental property. There’s a lot of history here.

This home very much reflects me as a person. It’s colorful, calm, neat, and homey. I have [collected] a lot of local art over the years, some of it my late mother’s, some of it my step mother’s, and some from local galleries.

Living room/fireplace

What is your favorite room and why? My living room is hands down my favorite room in the house. It has a gorgeous, Victorian (non working) fireplace. Plus my extra special purple velvet Chesterfield couch.

What’s the last thing you bought (or found!) for your home? My purple velvet Chesterfield couch. It’s from Roger + Chris.

Any advice for creating a home you love? Don’t fill your space with items that don’t reflect you as a person. Take your time and curate everything in your home, you’ll love it more. Also, never use fake flowers, flowers are living art and they are ephemeral by nature.
