Why we have a crush on this property

When I finally start my first-ever house hunt, I know I’ll be searching for a home that stands apart from the others on the market. If you’re anything like me, you’re averse to cookie-cutter houses, and this ruby red jewel box of a condo is perfectly out of the ordinary.

Situated not far from the bay in Berkeley, the condo appears more like a single-family home thanks to its exterior paint job and its fenced-in backyard. What first caught my attention, though — apart from the colorful exterior — was its charming backyard, complete with fruit trees, raised garden beds, and an airy ADU, or additional dwelling unit. Tucked behind the home, it offers high ceilings, a skylight window, and French doors. The space could be used as a guest room, home office, art studio, and more.

The main house, meanwhile, is impressive on its own. Three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a washer and dryer, multiple living areas, and a large eat-in kitchen round out its 1,500 square feet. Large closets, lots of windows, and updated hardware throughout seal the deal.
