Why we have a crush on this property

During your daily Zillow scroll, do you ever come across a place for sale in your city and think: This is it. This is where I need to live. It’s different than pining for a mansion in the country or a gigantic penthouse downtown — it’s a longing for a seriously upgraded version of the home you might live in now. In other words, it’s a not-so-far-fetched dream home. A goal home.

This one-bedroom co-op for sale in Brooklyn’s Park Slope neighborhood is my goal home. It is tiny, bright, and perfect.

Set on a tree-lined street steps from the leafy charms of Prospect Park, the unit makes best use of its roughly 520 square feet. That’s thanks to a smart layout: Upon entering, the kitchen and dining area show off their space-saving abilities. Custom cabinets and shelving maximize storage potential, while a dish-drying rack installed above the sink keeps the countertops uncluttered for cooking.

The kitchen overlooks the dining area, where there’s built-in banquette seating to save floor space. More built-ins, like modern vertical shelves, make this not your average NYC pre-war unit.

Two small steps lead down to the adjacent living room, and beyond it, a set of French doors opens to the bedroom. West-facing windows let in plenty of light to the entire place, and as any New Yorker will tell you, a total of three closets is a bounty. Two roof decks with impressive city views, meanwhile, are the icing on the cake.

The unit is listed for $625,000 by James Guimaraes and Andrew Westphal with the Corcoran Group.
