Thanks to the sometimes-wild rental market in Paris, Caroline Dupuy thinks she must have visited at least 20 apartments before finding this 269-square-foot one in the seventh arrondissement.

“At some point, I was ready to take anything, but no one picked me. In the end, I think it was fate,” Caroline admits. “I instantly fell in love with this place: It’s on the top floor, filled with beautiful light and an amazing view.”
She loves this rental unit’s fireplace, and also loves that the apartment has a separate bedroom, unusual since it’s such a petite space. But what Caroline really adores about the home are the terracotta floors, an element that adds so much warmth to the small space.
“It felt like the perfect mix between Parisian elegance and countryside charm. The tiles reminded me of the old country houses where I used to spend my childhood holidays,” she writes.
