Why we have a crush on this property

I’ve always wondered what it’d be like to live in the mecca of mid-century modern design. Would I become less impressed by its stunning architecture over time? Or would I never fail to marvel at Palm Springs’ grandeur?

This three-bedroom condo for sale has answered my question, because no matter how many times I may look at it, I know I’d still be arrested by its magic.

Situated a short drive from downtown, this circa 1963 creation flaunts all the MCM hallmarks: clean lines, breezeblocks, walls of glass, and clerestory windows. Designed by architect William Krisel, it was most recently home to designer Carlos Cardoza, who’s responsible for the place’s splashy, updated interiors.

Inside, bright, airy living spaces are punctuated by colorful furnishings and accents. The kitchen offers a breakfast bar with plenty of seating, while an additional sitting room off the living area could double as home office space.

A sunny yellow bedroom opens to the home’s jaw-dropping private patio, complete with a fireplace, mountain views, and some delightfully kitschy artificial grass. There’s also access to two community pools.

The house has been a stop during Modernism Week, a festival of house tours and architectural splendor. And though it’s not the house with #thatpinkdoor, it does indeed have a pink door.

The property is listed for $850,000 by Greg and Kiki Tormo with the Paul Kaplan Group, Bennion Deville Homes.
