Why we have a crush on this property

Nothing gets people talking like a good conversation pit, am I right? The shag-carpeted hangout in this house for sale in Salt Lake City is a real gem, though the rest of the four-bedroom, three-bathroom home sparkles and shines, too.

This mid-century abode has some very ‘60s brick and stone details on its exterior. Enter through the wooden double doors and you’ll notice traces of a groovy past are evident, but some clever home staging helps spaces like the living and dining rooms appeal to the everyday buyer.

Downstairs, however, is where this circa 1968 construction lets its hair down. It’s home to the show-stopping conversation pit, along with a stone fireplace, magenta carpeting, classic wood paneling, a wet bar, and sliding doors that lead to what you might call a hot tub room.

There are other flashes of mid-century flair elsewhere in the home, like the retro pink tiles in one of the bathrooms, more shag carpeting in other bright and bold hues, a salon sink in the lower-level bathroom, and a built-in desk nook and shelving in one of the bedrooms.

Outside, you’ll find a three-car garage and a large circular driveway. There’s also a patio and a covered balcony with original ‘60s railings. The outdoor spaces overlook the surrounding mountains — stunning views can be had from all angles. This impressive spot is listed for $1,250,000 by Linda Wolcott with Summit Sotheby’s International Realty.
