Why we have a crush on this property

Camden is a slice of paradise on the New England coast. The little fishing village in Maine is known for its quaint downtown and picturesque harbor—and this house for sale there is only a few minutes’ walk from all the town’s charms.

Set on a hill above Camden Harbor, the 1860 farmhouse has been carefully maintained and lovingly updated. Inside, the renovated kitchen features a marble backsplash, a farmhouse sink, and Viking appliances, plus a set of double doors leading to a back deck. The living room is warmed by a wood-burning fireplace, while the home’s three full bathrooms offer updated fixtures, subway tile, two glass-enclosed showers, and a clawfoot tub.

Upstairs, one bedroom flaunts barn doors that open to a window bench, while another offers glass doors to a small balcony. The two other bedrooms come with built-in bookshelves, spacious closets, and large windows. The top level of the house features another small room under the pitch of the roof. A skylight window bathes the spot in light, making it ideal for a home office or meditation space.

Outside, a good-sized backyard includes a small fruit orchard with apple and pear trees, as well as blackberry and blueberry bushes. And as if the yard’s flowering shrubs weren’t the icing on this very charming cake, the outer edges of the property lead to a small brook.

It’s all a block from Camden’s postcard-like downtown. The property is listed by Michael Lynch with Legacy Properties Sotheby’s International Realty for $950,000.
