Things we love about this property crush:

Mic drop. This house is stunning. Located in a sought-after neighborhood in Oakland, the price tag comes in at a skosh over $1.5 million—but you’ll understand why. The exterior manages to feel both modern and classic in design and is flanked by four garden pockets. What exactly is a garden pocket, you might ask? (We did.) It’s four distinct areas of landscaped space highlighting different parts of the home. More on that later.

Enter the living and dining space, where you’ll find curved doorways, beautiful wood flooring, tons of light, and a wallpapered fireplace. It’s a space to make your own. The aesthetic flows seamlessly into a large kitchen (with room for a breakfast table), featuring modern appliances and sleek grey and white (plus, some open!) cabinetry. Design-forward light fixtures are found throughout. There’s also an off-kitchen deck with built-in seating and a vertical garden.

Two large hallway bedrooms share an updated bathroom complete with a walk-in shower. But it’s the master retreat—with over 700 square feet of space—that totally impresses. There are built-ins, skylights, a walk-in closet, and even a loft living space with room for a sitting area. Basically, it’s all bigger than a New York City apartment. The master bath has skylights, modern double sinks, and a soaking tub.

But there’s more. The lower level houses an “in-law suite,” which is essentially an entire living space (including a posh bathroom), and a gorgeous deck. It’s hard to choose a favorite part of this home, but the outdoor spaces shine—especially the backyard with a large deck and gas fireplace.

The house has a detached garage with EV charging and is just blocks from College Ave., BART, and the shops and restaurants of Rockridge.
