Woman sitting next to fireplace in living room with pink accents

Years lived in: 5 months, renting

Tell us a little (or a lot) about your home and the people who live there: I’m currently subletting my apartment from some friends who decided to go home and wait out the lockdown. While the pandemic is bad bad bad for SO many reasons, the silver lining has been this apartment! It’s my first apartment where I don’t have roommates and therefore get to decorate solely for myself! Who knows when I will get this opportunity again, so I decided I would incorporate pink wherever possible. It’s still coming together, but I am very excited about what this space could become.

I’ve expressed my personal taste and style through clothing my whole life. It’s been so fun NOW exploring that through my home. I love loud colors and patterns and being surrounded by books and art. I hate when people put boundaries on things like “those colors/textures don’t go together.” Instead, I try to mix and match and not restrict myself with these myths about “what works.”

Describe your home’s style in 5 words or less: Dreamy. Pink. Marie Antoinette.

What is your favorite room and why? My living room! It has these flow-y, sheer pink curtains that add a certain romance to the room. I have so many videos on my phone of those curtains blowing in the wind with the sound of the traffic outside and the sun setting. #BLISS.

What’s the last thing you bought (or found!) for your home? There is an apothecary quite close to my home and I just got the coolest seven-day candles from there and aesthetically they are everything. I love the colorways of both and they just add such ambiance to any night.

Any advice for creating a home you love? Always choose color especially if it’s pink!
