A Bold and Bright Home That’s Big on Tropical Vibes

Our cottage style home is a cheerful, inviting place with a colorful, tropical vibe. My inspiration comes from Caribbean roots as my mother was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The house is small, 1,485 square feet, but full of personality. It is filled with unique “conversation pieces” that have personal stories behind them, musical instruments that are always ready for an impromptu jam with friends, and a warm, relaxing ambiance that welcomes all who enter.

Our bright kitchen/dining area is my favorite spot in the house since I love to cook and entertain. With large windows on two sides, our table looks out onto a small deck filled with bright flowers and a spacious back yard that is home to a variety of wildlife. At breakfast, we enjoy the antics of acrobatic squirrels, vibrant song birds and horses peacefully grazing in the pasture just beyond our property. It is also a favorite gathering area for our many musician friends who often join us in the evening for dinner and live music.

When the house became available to rent year and a half ago, we happily took it as my husband’s music studio is next door. Most of my shopping is within walking distance or at most, a half mile away, so the convenience is quite a boon!
