Name: Colie
Location: North Loop — Minneapolis, Minnesota

This is my one bedroom apartment in the North Loop of Minneapolis. I chose this space because I LOVED the bright white feel and large floor to ceiling windows since there is only lighting on one side. The white kitchen was also a winner for me. I would love to be in an older building with exposed brick, but didn’t really love any of the kitchens I saw.

My style is a mix of traditional and eclectic. I love mixing old with new and different patterns, but my colors usually stay neutral with pops. My inspiration comes from everywhere. If I see something I like, I’ll take a picture on my phone or pin it to my pinterest board and try to replicate it. My problem usually is that I’m inspired by TOO many things and want all styles and things.

Since our place is small, the main area is really one room, but specifically our “living room”. I love our area rug and the pieces in that room. The marble coffee table is one of my favorite pieces I found at a salvation army/warehouse. I love that my husband likes everything as well. In the past I’ve been drawn to more feminine decor and in this place I tried keeping things more neutral.

I love our mix of old and new furniture pieces and accessories. There are stories behind most of them … like the emerald green velvet chair I found when my husband sent me out to get groceries and I made a quick stop at this warehouse and saw it when I walked in and had to have it … $5 later and I came home with another chair … and forgot the groceries because I was so excited about it.

Thanks, Colie!
