A Comfy & Cozy Railroad Apartment
Name: Justine
Location: Greenpoint — Brooklyn, New York
Our apartment is a railroad style apartment. At first, this was difficult to decorate, as we had to decide on small living room or small bedroom. To us, a living room was more important.
We chose to live here because we love the neighborhood and fell in love with the old charm in the apartment: beautiful moldings, fireplace, etc. The railroad layout is odd, but the amount of space we have in it outweighs the strange bedroom flowing into the living room sans door!
We decorated with a mix of old and new pieces plus pieces we have picked up over the years of traveling. The bar cart was a yard-sale find that we upgraded a bit by adding wine & glass storage underneath.
A lot of the art/photography around the apartment is “hand-made” – painted by me, a shot my husband took on some of our travels, an image we found, etc.
Thanks, Justine !
