Name: Taylor Le, fiance Craig Peterson, and two cats
Location: Nicasio, California
Type of home: A-Frame
Size: 800 square feet
Years lived in: 6 months, renting
If you’ve ever dreamed of living in a cozy A-frame cabin tucked among tall redwood trees, Taylor and Craig’s home tour will fulfill your fantasies. Even more interestingly, the couple doesn’t own this cabin—it’s a rental! They share the fun space with their two cats, and it’s the perfect house for a couple who lives and works in at home.
I tend to think of wood-clad cabins as being dark, but their home is flooded with light, thanks to the huge glass “A”-shaped wall, to generous windows, and even skylights in the roof. They’ve kept their furnishings neutral and subtle, in order to let the natural beauty of the house’s materials and the views of nature really shine.
Impressively, Taylor and Craig both work from home (she’s a creative director), and they’ve carved out a little companion workspace that suits them just fine. And can’t you imagine how much work you could get done in such a quiet, peaceful setting?
