Name: Julieta
Location: West New York, New Jersey

My apartment is a two bedroom located on the waterfront and right across the river form New York City. I’d like to compare it to Battery Park City but much quieter and less commercial. I love the fact that I was the first one to moved into this apartment after living in a prewar building in NYC. It’s brand new and super clean. The view is absolutely stunning and I have NYC views from every room, even the bathroom.

My favorite part of the apartment is the light I get, especially in the AM, the high ceilings, and the dark wooden floors. I honestly cannot pick a favorite room because they all are. I am an interior designer so each room has its own style and they are all very different from each other. I traveled a lot with my husband so I have many worldly artifacts, frames, textiles, pillows and rugs.

My inspiration comes from the places I visit and I always try to buy things there rather than in United States. I also try to support small companies and do a lot of shopping on Etsy. I did a few IKEA hacks which I am very proud of, especially the dresser in my daughter’s room that has handmade leather pulls. It was so easy to make and it made a huge impact in the room.

I do love my art wall in the living room. It took over a year to complete because I wanted to take my time and collect meaningful art. I have two painting from very good friends of mine. One is a famous make up artist and the other is a pretty established painter from upstate NY. I also have a our wedding painting which was the cover on our wedding invitation. Wedding pictures, antique convex mirror, antlers, a preserved butterfly, a mask from Bali, a framed napkin from Mexico, a wool weaving I made, an antique racquet and the list goes on.

Thanks, Julieta!
