Name: Jossie & Kenny
Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts

My husband Kenny and I have rented this apartment for about one year. It’s around 800 square feet, is one of six units in our “double triple decker,” and is surrounded by other houses on all sides in our dense neighborhood. Luckily, the surrounding trees make it feel private and tree-house-like. The balcony, pictured here at the height of the summer, was particularly tree-house-like when the scarlet runner bean vines I planted went crazy!

We love the bay windows and hardwood floors, and I love filling it with plants, bright colors, and art – almost all of it by my dad, Liviu Ivanov, or by me. The coffee table is a tea cart from the Cambridge Antique Mall, shown in two photos – one taken after I highlighted the edges with chartreuse paint, which really makes it pop. Many of our nicer chairs and tchotchkes, and the yellow lamps in the living room, are inherited from Kenny’s grandma’s beautiful home in Fall River, MA.

Thanks, Jossie !
