A Sunny California Home for a Family of Seattle Transplants
Name: Jennifer
Location: Temecula, California
I just recently relocated to Southern Cali from the Seattle area. I moved here with my husband and two youngest kids (12 and 5). With three kids already out of the house, we decided to finish raising our brood in a drastically different way. From a 2,500 square foot custom farm house in the great NW, to a 1,600 square foot stucco in a neighborhood that we transformed from a cloned tract house to a mock Palm Springs Spanish Modern. The deep pitched roofline and terra cotta tile really came alive for us when we added some walnut brown accents and gave the stucco a overall coat of bright white. Oh! I almost forgot the giant sunroom off the back of the house. It adds about 600 additional square feet to the living space.
The interior is styled in a colorful vintage eclectic feel by ‘yours truly’. I have been honing my treasure hunting skills for many years, so almost every piece of furniture and the accessories are vintage and/or have a rad story. The front exterior will eventually be a desert landscape, peppered with geometric pavers and vintage pottery.
The back is in progress, but houses my 1963 Oasis camper. It is 16 feet of pure SWEETNESS! The outside has been totally redone, and the inside is being restored as we speak. It will serve as guest quarters for family and friends, and most commonly for our three grown kids (22,21,18) when they come to visit. They love our new locale and so do we! We seem to be 1-2 hours from so many cool places. Disneyland, Palm Springs and San Diego beaches, to name a few.
Thanks, Jennifer!
