Name: Tara
Location: Park Slope — Brooklyn, New York

I moved into this charming pre-war Park Slope apartment less than a year ago and had to have it when I discovered the outdoor space. It’s the first Brooklyn apartment I’ve lived in on my own and I’ve dressed it up with all of my favorite design elements: simplicity, rustic and elegance—not to mention travel-inspired touches.

From an 1800s steamer trunk turned coffee table, to a sleek white sofa, my vibrant DIY abstract art and a gilded mirror from Morocco, the place manifests my desire for clutter-free space and my love of antique pieces and things I’ve acquired on my travels.

What I love most about my home is that it couldn’t be more me. I’m a travel writer, so coming home to a sanctuary that also has physical reminders of my journeys, makes me smile every time. Plus, snagging private outdoor space in Brooklyn is even more rare than having a washer/dryer in unit. So I’m fortunate!

Thanks, Tara!
