Location: Chicago, Illinois

Our home is considered a Vintage home. It has four bedrooms and the upstairs is a bedroom suite. There is also a basement and one car garage. We are located on the northwest side of Chicago and we live across the street from a large public school which is grades K to 12 that takes up the entire block.

We choose to live here because my husband works downtown and we wanted to be closer and have the opportunity to utilize public transportation. Before we bought this place we were living 50 miles west in a suburb of Chicago. Also it was an affordable house in a great neighborhood. My daughter helped us find this house with a google search of, ” The safest neighborhoods in Chicago.”

My style is mid century modern with a twist, with few older and younger touches thrown in. There is a lot to love here. Our favorites are the bedroom suite (upstairs) and our offices. The offices are special because they are the places in the house that represent our individual and personal sides.

I am most proud of all the work that we put into the house. Not only repairs and upgrades but the fun of curating the furniture and showing off my photographs as the main art in the house. Oh and I don’t want to forget the brand-new three chime door bell replacement. Now it looks and sounds beautiful.

My experience as an artist, designer and illustrator has helped me to feel confident that I could decorate the entire house to make it feel like a home.

Thanks, Roger !
