Name: Anissa
Location: Meridian Hills — Indianapolis, Indiana

Anissa’s home is a lovely mix of warm woods, bright whites and pops of greenery. Renovating a home is never easy, especially a unique and older one, where striking a balance between maintaining the character of the home and keeping it fresh is key. After dreaming of living in this neighborhood for about a decade, Anissa and her family made their dream come true.

From Anissa: We live in a 1940s Cape Cod that we are currently in the midst of rehabbing. The house is 2,800 square feet in the town of Meridian Hills which is a neighborhood full of old and unique homes, huge trees, parks and lots of character around every corner. We have dreamed about living in this part of town for the past 10 years and finally made the jump last year to sell our “perfect house” in the suburbs and move to a home that was more about location than square footage. Basically, we wanted to be able to walk for lunch and coffee. We wanted our kids to grow up in a diverse and culturally rich area.

Our favorite part of our remodel so far is our kitchen…you know the heart of the home! We love how it has turned out so far. I really wanted the house to feel light and bright. Combining new elements with the old and finding a balance to create a cohesive and calming effect with in our new space. I hope you all love it as much as we do!

Thanks so much, Anissa!
