Nostalgia is having a moment in design right now, and Kohl’s is one of the brands really leaning into that old-made-new vibe. Earlier this month, the retailer announced a launch of offerings from Limited Too, Madden Girl, and Aéropostale, three iconic mall brands of the ’90s and early aughts. As part of these offerings, Kohl’s has helped introduce Aéropostale’s first foray into home decor with a collection of bedding, textiles, lighting, and furniture

The assortment is perfect for small spaces, dorm rooms, and first apartments alike, thanks to its budget-friendly price points and thoughtful details. Nothing costs over $120 — most pieces are actually under $50, with the exception of entire bedding sets and a beanbag chair. You’ll find everything from storage solutions and cozy textile basics to supercute trendy items, including a mushroom ottoman and glass mushroom table lamp. Checkerboard patterns and sherpa/boucle fabrics are also represented across the line, making it feel very fresh and current.

All pieces are available online now, and a selection of the smaller items are shoppabe in stores. To give you a hand with your shopping, I picked out my favorite items and am sharing them here.

Every dorm room, studio, or small space apartment should have a collapsible tray table. It’s the perfect surface for crafting, a snack, or even working. When it’s not in use, simply fold it down and slide it under the bed or into a corner.

If you want to go a bit more subtle with the mushroom trend, then this glass mushroom table lamp is for you. With its ivory marbling, it's neutral enough to fit in just about any style of space. When it’s glowing, though, it makes a major tabletop statement for under $30.

There’s no denying comforters are much easier to deal with than duvets. So if you want to keep your bed-making simple but still have it look stylish, this sweet puff-embroidered comforter set is a great budget option. Choose from Twin/Twin XL and Full/Queen sizing, and note that this design also reverses to solid for a second option if you tire of the texture.

Use this quilted storage basket to store blankets and throws. You could also try it as a laundry basket, since it has handles for easy transport.

When you need an extra seat but don’t have space for a chair, a floor cushion can be your best solution. They’re flat and relatively slim but still sturdy and comfortable enough for lounging. This one comes in cute corduroy fabric, making it feel right on theme for fall.
