This Plush Velvet Albany Park Sofa Feels So Luxurious, I’d Swear It’s 3x the Price (Psst! It’s 30% Off!)
At the end of a long day, there’s nothing I love more than kicking back on a cozy sofa, popping on one of my comfort shows (more often than not, Brooklyn 99), and properly unwinding. Lately, however, this wasn’t happening. You see, I recently moved in with my sister, and to put it mildly … her sofa left more to be desired, something she’d be the first to tell you herself. So, it was quickly decided that once I fully settled it, we’d embark on the hunt for a new sofa.
Now, anyone who has been sofa shopping knows it’s one of the most important furnishing buys you’ll make. That being said, there were a handful of criteria our new sofa had to meet: it had to be roomy (I’m talking ample space to sprawl and deep seating), it had to be pet-friendly, and it had to be both comfortable and supportive. While these aren’t unreasonable asks, that doesn’t mean finding the right sofa would be easy. Luckily for us, we stumbled across Albany Park’s newest launch — the Barton Chaise Sectional — and haven’t looked back since. Reader, if you’re looking for a sofa that has it all, this is it. Psst! It’s also currently 30% off!

Design Features That Stand Out
The first thing that stood out to me about this sofa was the fact that each sofa is completely custom made right here in the USA. You get to choose it all: your fabric, your color, your feet, and your chaise’s orientation. When it comes to choosing your fabric, you’ll also find that many options are machine-washable, stain-resistant, and pet-friendly, meaning this sofa is great for those with hectic households. Speaking of which, the materials used in the construction of this sofa are also a standout. With a solid wood frame, high-performance suspension base, and high-resilience foam, this sofa is comfortable and built to last. Best of all, it comes shipped directly to your doorstep and is designed to be put together in minutes.
How It Performed
To say I was excited to get this sofa would be an understatement, but before we get into the nitty-gritty, let’s talk about my personal customizations. For this sofa, I went with the dark teal performance velvet, walnut-colored feet, and a right-facing orientation for the chaise. As you can see above, the sofa is an absolute stunner. The teal velvet instantly adds elegance to our living room and is unlike any other velvet sofa I’ve ever sat on as it doesn’t stick to you but is still sumptiously soft.
Now as for the comfort, I’ll just say this: I’ve sat on sofas three times the price (I’m talking about you, infamous cloud couch) and this sofa blows it out of the water. If every sofa on the planet had these cushions, I’d be the happiest woman alive. They offer the perfect amount of support without being too firm or needing to be “broken in” — a perfect medium plush. My favorite thing? These cushions do not slide (chaise included), one of my biggest pet peeves with sofas. I’ve also lost count of how many times both my sister and I have fallen asleep on this sofa so when I say it’s comfortable, I mean it.
And the most important part — the cleaning. While I’ve yet to toss the covers in the wash, both my sister and I have spot-cleaned to great success, something we were both nervous about because velvet can be notoriously finicky. And while our dog’s fur did stick a bit to the velvet (hey, you can’t fight the nature of the fabric) we were happily surprised to see with a quick swipe it was gone.
What I Loved
- The perfect cushions: As I said above, these cushions truly cannot be beaten. They’re somehow sink-in cozy, deep, and supportive, all at once. A true Goldilocks find.
- The customization: I’ve never had the luxury of essentially building a sofa from scratch, so being able to customize everything down to the feet was a treat that helped me ensure that my sister and I truly got the sofa of our dreams.
- The washable covers: Having a pup means accidents can happen, not to mention the fur, so having a sofa with washable covers is a game-changer. It also offers additional peace of mind when it comes to hosting people — messes stand no chance against this sofa.
Good to Know
If there was one con about this sofa, it would be the delivery. While Albany Park offers free shipping (pre-arranged so you know when it’s coming), they don’t offer in-room delivery, white-glove delivery, or setup.
Thankfully the actual setup is a breeze (you simply click the pieces into place), but it can be hard to get the boxes themselves into your space if, like me, you live in a walk-up, as the boxes are pretty weighty. That being said, at the end of the day, I’d do it again 100x over — that’s how good this sofa is.

The Barton Chaise Sectional is an outstanding sofa, but I would specifically recommend it if you’re looking for something that:
