Do You Like Jokes and Crafts? This Punny Video Of Amy Poehler and Nick Offerman Is Sew Good
If you like puns, crafts, and craft-related puns, then we have a pretty great way for you to spend two minutes. In a video to promote their new crafting competition show, Making It, former Parks & Rec costars Amy Poehler and Nick Offerman challenge each other to a DIY-themed pun-off.
“Y’all thready for this?” starts Poehler. “Don’t be spoolish,” Offerman dishes.
What follows is 1:40 of sew-bad-they’re-good jabs, with such winners as “I macrame-d you and I can macra-break you just as easily.”
Making It is making its NBC premiere on July 31 at 10/9 central. The reality competition show is produced by Poehler’s Paper Kite Productions, and will star Offerman and Poehler as co-hosts, with Barneys creative ambassador Simon Doonan and Etsy trend expert Dayna Isom Johnson as judges.
Sort of like the Project Runway for crafters, the description on NBC details how the show will work: “Each episode of the competition will consist of two projects that allow the makers to demonstrate their specialized talent, while sharing skilled insights and touching personal stories. First, the ‘faster-craft’ round will be a timed challenge that will test their ability to not only work quickly but imaginatively as well. Next, the makers will move to the ‘master craft collection,’ a one-of-a-kind themed challenge in which the competitors will need to use their expertise and get inventive in order to assemble a winning craft that fits the theme of that week.”
“I am in awe of anyone who can make beautiful things with their hands,” says Poehler. “Simon and Dayna are such experts in the makerspace, I am thrilled that they are judging and that Nick and I get to host and watch the process.”
