Here’s What You Need To Create a Cozy Bedroom Nook, According to Angela Kinsey
Angela Kinsey, best known for her role as Angela Martin on “The Office,” has a nook in her bedroom, and now everyone else wants a nook in their bedroom, too. Currently on the mend from COVID-19, Kinsey decided to embrace cozy comfort and she designed herself a book nook to end all other nooks.
“My new favorite spot!” Kinsey captioned her Jan. 15 reveal shot. “It was the corner of our bedroom that used to be the catch all for unfinished home projects…Well, I finally went through the pile!”
She further explained, “We repurposed some furniture from our living room and made this little nook. Happy Saturday from my nook! (Ok. That sounds weird. 😂)”
Sounds weird, looks great.
To create your own Angela Kinsey-inspired nook, there are a few key items you’ll need to collect. First, set the warm and empowering mood with a set of prints from artist Melissa Koby. Kinsey has a set of four framed Koby works in her nook, including the one below titled “Now What.”
Koby has a wide selection of her art prints for sale on Etsy, each one celebrates the warmth and beauty of Black women, diversity, and unity.
Next, you’re going to need a quirky side table to put all your favorite reads on top of —preferably one with whimsy, like hers that looks like a zebra. Kinsey’s zebra side table looks like it has to be a one-of-a-kind find, so really any animal motif table will do in a recreation.
The “Birdy” side table from Urban Outfitters is an excellent option for those who like to go eclectic without being too over-the-top about it.
Finally, a must-have for a Kinsey nook is a floral-printed chair. There are a myriad of beautiful options available online. The Quinton Armchair from Wayfair, which is available in four different floral prints, looks to be the perfect size for cuddling up and diving into a great new read.
All that’s left is to find yourself a furry friend to hang out with, and your Angela Kinsey-inspired nook is complete.
