Name: Music industry executive Sam, designer Anne & Vizsla pup Indiana Location: Bouldin — Austin, Texas Size: 2400 square feet Years lived in: 2 — owned You could say that creativity’s been in the center of Sam and Anne’s relationship from the beginning, when one of their first conversations centered around their mutual love of design.

Name: Adrianna Lopez and Paul Olson Location: Belmont Shore, – Long Beach, California Size: 1600 square feet Years lived in: 2 1/2 years I met Adrianna through a friend who shared a few pictures of her stylish home. I was blown away by the cultured aesthetic and attention to detail. When I met Adrianna in person, her fun personality matched the aesthetic and I couldn’t believe that this was her first try at interior design.

Name: ScottLocation: Ottawa, CanadaSize: 1200 square feetYears lived in: 6 years; rented Scott is a lucky guy; the place he calls home is one of the most beautiful and iconic apartment buildings in Canada’s capital. Hovering on the edge of the downtown core, The Windsor Arms was built in the Art Nouveau style and features leaded stained-glass windows, Belgian tiles, wood-burning fireplaces and an enviable entrance hall.

Name: Alexandra & Eliot Angle (shared with their daughter and their puppy) Location: Los Feliz — Los Angeles, CA Size: 1,400 square feet Years lived in: 2 years — Own Alexandra and Eliot’s house was built in the 1890’s, and is the first original home in Los Feliz. Now surrounded by a residential city block of homes and apartment complexes, the Angles have the ideal hidden getaway.

Name: Sibylle and family Location: Montreal, Canada Size: 680 square feet Years lived in: 6 months — rented After posting about Sibylle’s incredible dining room transformation in Before & After: Tiny Bedroom Turned Lovely Dining Room back in October 2011 and getting lost on her fabulous DIY and design blog Funkytime, I put two and two together and figured the rest of her home must be just as amazing as what I had already seen. What do you know, I was right!

Name: Mitchell White Location: Livingston, Tennessee Size: 1100 square feet Years lived in: 5 — rented Mitch’s house is in the heart of a very small town in rural Tennessee, but he himself has traveled the world — and his home reflects that. An accomplished artist and teacher, he brings a classic, timeless look to a very old home with beautiful bones.

Name: Adir Abergel and Marcello Freire Location: Mar Vista – Los Angeles, California Size: 1600 square feet Years lived in: 5 years Adir and Marcello’s home truly feels like a getaway retreat. The entire living room opens up to a fantastic outdoor area with intimate seating and hot tub. It is no surprise that they love to entertain and often stay at home versus leaving their very inviting house. Adir and Marcello’s collection of artwork is incredible.

While all of us who work on our homes know how much time, effort and research goes into a space that looks comfortably chic, when it’s done with this much panache, all thoughts of hard work fall away… Sarah describes her apartment as classic modern.

Designer:Kate Strickland of West Haddon HallLocation: Los Angeles, California Kate sent us images and info on a recent project: This Spanish style house with dramatic vaulted ceilings celebrates a delicious mix of styles in the interior, designed by Los Angeles-based firm West Haddon Hall. Filled with original Mid-Century Modern pieces in wood and neutral tones, it is enlivened with vibrant Moroccan rugs and Turkish pillows.
