Renee’s Elegance on a Budget
Name: Renee Location: Sault Ste Marie, Ontario, Canada Our home is a two story, three bedroom house built in 1950. It’s just a little over 1400 square feet. We have lived here for about 5 years now and we have loved every moment. Our house is full of light and the layout is perfect for entertaining. We love that it has character with plenty of molding, wood fireplace, rounded doorways and lovely french doors. My design inspirations are simple and classic, with a fun twist.

Maria’s 500 Square Foot Studio
Name: Maria Location: Brooklyn I lease a very tiny apartment in Brooklyn. A high ceiling helps add some air and creates an illusion of a larger space. I’ve managed to divide my 500 square foot room into four different zones: entry, bedroom, work & lounge, kitchen. My studio is decorated with flea market and antique finds as well as with accessories from Objects Reartiste. Thanks, Maria! • Interested in sharing your home with Apartment Therapy?

Before & After: A Vintage Bathroom Gets a Charming New Look
When Joanna moved into her 1927 Spanish Revival a few years ago, the bathroom had a lot of original character and some…ahem…colorful extras that needed immediate attention. Her goal was to simply enhance the bath’s vintage charm with a few cosmetic updates and practical repairs. She switched out the rusted pedestal sink with a new model and chose Benjamin Moore’s Black Horizon for the walls to play off the original black and white floor and subway tile.
