This attic bedroom was super dark and dated. Catherine and Brian wanted to create a warm & welcoming master bedroom in the space, and boy did they have their work cut out for them. From Catherine & Bryan: We designed this space as a master bedroom. Aside from making it feel less dated, we wanted it to feel cozy, open, and full of character. We had talked about adding built-ins and cubbies, taking out the walls and widening the room, adding reading nooks – you name it, we thought of it.

Stunning, yet strangely unsettling, the prey-snatching venus flytrap is what Halloween dreams are made of. To channel the creepy-cool vibe, we used liquid eyeliner and magenta lipstick for a look that’s a cinch to recreate—even in your office bathroom before dashing off to the Halloween parade.
