This Cleveland House’s Style Is “Funky with a Side of Calm” (and I Love It!)
Roselyn Quell moved to Cleveland “on a whim” in March of 2024, after falling in love after only one visit to the city! “Somehow, I managed to sell my home in Erie within a day, buy this house immediately after, and move in within two weeks,” she writes. “When there’s a will, there’s a way!”
The house is 1100 square feet large and has two bedrooms, which is plenty of room for Roselyn and her four cats, Ivy, Clover, Iris, and Capris. The ample space is nice, but Roselyn really loves all the architectural details. “I love the character this house boasts — from the original hardwood to the Art Deco chandelier in the dining room,” she writes. “Everything was crafted with purpose, and I tried to honor the era through my decor style. I hope I did the first owners proud!”
As for how Roselyn has decorated the space, she’s added fun paint colors and also cool finds. “Go to thrift stores! Check out Facebook Marketplace! Don’t be afraid to drive around on trash day!” she advises. “You’d be amazed what beautiful furniture people just toss out! Also, when you can, DIY and get your hands dirty. It’s actually more fun than you may realize!”
Thanks, Roselyn!
