Article’s New, Biggest Ever Outdoor Collection Has Something for Every Design Style and Even Teeny-Tiny Patios
If there’s one thing spending much of the past year indoors has taught many of us, it’s that outdoor space is maybe more important than ever, if you’re lucky enough to have even just a small sliver of yard or patio. It’s all about maximizing what you’ve got and making that area just as comfy and cozy as your favorite spot on the sofa or even your bedroom.
Right now though, you can definitely see the increased interest in the outdoors reflected in new furniture launches and spring decorating trends. Biophilic design, which puts an emphasis on flora and fauna, natural light, and organic materials, is on the rise, and major brands are doubling down on their outdoor offerings. One such modern furnishings brand, Article, actually just launched their largest outdoor collection to date, and there’s something for anyone trying to bring the feel of the indoors outside to accommodate how working and living situations have changed since the start of the pandemic.
As part of this launch, Article is introducing comfy, lounge-style seating, dining furniture, and decor across three different aesthetics: Garden Terrace, Seaside Retreat, and Desert Modern. With its soft pastel palette and light woods, the Garden Terrace assortment (partially pictured above) is maybe the most traditional of the three, though I could see the bleached pieces working well in a mod, Scandi-inspired space, too. Seaside Retreat (which you can see an image of at the top of this post) evokes the surf and sand with its bold pops of blues, yellows, and greens, while the Desert Modern offerings (partially pictured below) feature earthy terracotta reds and warm mid-tone woods punctuated by hits of cool grays and even concrete. If you’re a fan of woven materials like cane, rattan, or rope, you’ll be happy to know that chair and stool styles across all three aesthetics feature these kinds of summery, breezy details. Coordinating rugs, smaller side tables, and lanterns are represented in each line, too.
As for pricing, there are certainly a few deals to be had across the collection on the whole. Several smaller sofas are available for well under $1,000, which is pretty good pricing for all-weather upholstered furniture. The solid wood dining tables and upholstered sectionals are a bit spendier, coming in over $1,000 for most styles. If you just have room for a set of cute chairs and a tiny table though, you can find a pairing for less than $500. Everything is available now, and one thing I’ve loved about Article in the past is their quick ship times. The sooner you furnish your outdoor space, the sooner you can get out there once spring has sprung.
