Here’s How Ashley Tisdale Makes Her Kitchen Work Without a Pantry

Actress and interior designer Ashley Tisdale is never shy about posting bits and pieces of her home’s interior decor on Instagram. But it wasn’t until Architectural Digest paid her and her husband Christopher French a visit that we realized Tisdale has never really given fans a peek at her minimalist kitchen.

“There’s definitely hardly any space,” Tisdale said of her kitchen, which consists of two detached counters housing the range and sink and a built-in double oven unit on the side wall. “But Chris and I are not huge cooks … However, having a baby, you cook a lot more. So, for me, it’s all about organization.”

And staying organized is especially crucial in this space because, as Tisdale explained, there’s no pantry. “It’s something we loved about it,” Tisdale said, “but it is something that we’re like, ‘oh, what are we going to do.’”

Rather than find pantry space elsewhere, Tisdale and French converted several cabinets and drawers into food storage and the family’s plates, bowls, and glasses are stacked neatly underneath the center island/bar. 

“Weirdly, I’ve become known for my kitchens,” Tisdale, who runs her own design company Frenshe, told AD. She renovated her previous kitchen alongside her father and then redid another kitchen that was once hers for her friend after she bought Tisdale’s former home.

“She bought it and she hired me during the pandemic to fully renovate and design her kitchen,” Tisdale said. “And then my girlfriend Vanessa [Hudgens] was like, ‘hey, I need some help’ … I’ve become really into kitchens even though I don’t use them very often.”

Like the rest of Tisdale’s home, the kitchen is clean, modern, and a place you’d definitely want to hang out. They may not be the most prolific chefs, but many would never pass up the offer of eating a PB&J at Tisdale and French’s kitchen counter.
