Name: Baiyina Hughley
Location: Miracle Mile, Los Angeles, California

I live in an 800 square foot 1930s apartment in Miracle Mile in Los Angeles. I love how sunny the space is, the great views and the sound of birds chirping and lawns being mowed — it’s my own private oasis of calm in the city. My style is elegant eclectic minimalism, influenced by a long-time passion of flea market shopping yet refined by ability to finally restrain myself from impulse buying.

My years spent working with Oly Studios also refined my palate to lean towards the elegant and feminine. As much as I love color I am happiest in minimal, somewhat neutral spaces and I love the feeling of everything having its place.

My white sofa was one of my first purchases, found at a thrift store and had it reupholstered. I try to balance the feminine classic pieces with modern to keep it young and fresh. I think I’ve managed to achieve a high-end yet relaxed feel and I’m happy with where it is right now.

I’m always inspired by Parisian style apartments — there’s an element of couture — they seem to love mixing classic with modern and I swear they can make a ripped IKEA sofa in room with classic architectural detailing look amazing.

Thanks, Baiyina Hughley!
