Now Banana Republic Sells Furniture, Lighting, and Decor
After a successful rollout of textiles earlier this year, Banana Republic just launched an expanded home collection. It’s available online now and will be in select stores across the U.S. by the end of September.
The BR Home extension will touch nearly every room of the house, from the bedroom and living room to the dining room and beyond. You’ll find everything from larger anchor pieces of furniture and lighting to textiles and decorative accessories — including vases — all with the modern global underpinnings and quality the brand is already well-known for. You can expect luxe materials with classic appeal — think French oak, marble, brass, cotton cashmere, and organic cotton — as well as a sensitivity to sourcing from artisan communities.
“At Banana Republic, we are driven by a desire for discovery and self-expression, representing a new way to outfit yourself and your home,” says Sandra Stangl, Banana Republic president and CEO, in a press release about the launch. “We are committed to bringing exceptional quality, timeless design, and versatile styling to our customers as we determine how to best support their lifestyle.”
Aesthetically, there’s likely to be something for just about everyone in the three expressions available at launch: “Textured Modern,” “Classic Chic,” and “Explore.” With its clean lines and mixed materials, “Textured Modern” will speak the language of minimalists, while Classic Chic will lean a little more traditional. “Explore” items will be all about artisanal craftsmanship and those grounding, organic neutrals that are so soothing in the home.
Some highlights include the “Stinson,” which consists of bench-made upholstered seating from Virginia and North Carolina outfitted with hardwood frames, and the “Marquis and Savannah Collections,” which feature dining furniture crafted from European oak. The “Atlas Moroccan Rugs Collection” and “Nova Collections” are standouts, too. You’ll find hand-knotted wool rugs in heritage patterns alongside hand-rolled, handmade clay beaded chandeliers crafted by skilled women makers, respectively.
Prices for the collection start at $150 and range up to $5,000. Pieces are available for order, and two BR Home collection-dedicated pop-ups will be open in New York City and Los Angeles.
