Carina has been buying, restoring and selling antiques for 28 years. Antiques are such a part of her life, that her house reflects this passion as well. The home she’s owned for 25 years does have some antique store vibes, but it’s still cozy and home-like. And there are tons of things to look at, from skulls to religious art. This house is a treasure in the middle of Barcelona!

Although Carina has spent most of her life finding old treasures, she cannot commit to any style in particular; she loves to find unique things and follow her design instinct wherever it may lead. In fact, she loves adding to her home decor mix and moving things around constantly to shake the look. But it’s not just this space she rearranges and adds to, her own antique shop in the city of Sabadell, near Barcelona, called Almoneda, also shows off her gift for antiques and design. And recently she opened up a new shop in Madrid with the restorer Helena Egea called Egea & Casanovas.

The backyard of this townhouse is not to be missed…sometimes it feels like you are in the middle of the countryside and next to us is the busiest street of our city!

Apartment Therapy Survey:

My Style: I love to mix and if I see something I like I buy it. Then I see how to incorporate it into my house. I love skulls and religious art.

Inspiration: Magazines and flea markets.

Favorite Element: I like everything. I am very passionate about things.

What Friends Say: They love this incredible oasis in the middle of the city. The backyard is really relaxing.

Biggest Embarrassment: Three years ago I did some serious renovations. The kitchen and the bathrooms were truly horrible!

Biggest Indulgence: Nothing. My life is a flea market!

Best Advice: Don’t be influenced by fashion. All houses are different and they have to reflect the people living in it.
