The designer says: This bedroom was re-done for a 10-year-old boy, who loved bold patterns and colors. We wanted this space to be very graphic and modern for him, something he can grow up in, with a hint of sophisticated style.

The juxtoposition of bold black and whites against his neon, bright colored toys and accents in the room is one of our favorite elements. Also… This wallpaper…had us in love at first sight.

Although it caters to just one boy, we wanted to add the element of symmetery as well as the fun option for comfortable sleep overs.

He was incredibly excited that we used the Excel Tool Chest as a bedside table (available at Lowes), giving him a “grown-up” place to put his toys and drawing materials.

The before photo gave us an understanding of his love for bold colors, bold prints and animals, allowing us to cultivate the perfect space for this young man. We re-used the grass reed shades in our existing bedroom and brought the safari/zoo feel that he loves together with the headboard.
