For most apartment and home owners, the idea of a dedicated media room is wishful thinking. Usually a basement, spare bedroom, or in this case, the living room has to be designated for home entertainment purposes. But that doesn’t necessarily mean having to settle for “as-is”. Check out this living room-to-media room makeover, the final results are an extremely plush spot for the owner to enjoy movies with his 110″ HD projection screen setup…

The unnamed Reddit user shared photos of the living room make project over Imgur, revealing basic measurements of the pillow top DIY seating area (102.5″ deep, 145.25″ wide) and details about the construction process. We count 24 total pillows topping the setup, making this heavenly to some, a hell to others

I did more research on foam cushioning than anyone in the western hemisphere I am sure, lol. I consulted with 3 different upholstery studios as well as countless message boards. More thought was put into the cushions/foam than anything else. The fabric is microsuede and, as you can tell from the pics, the cushions are even reversible. So they can be all brown, all rustic color, or alternating like I have them in the pictures.

The project reminds us a bit of  Simone Tasca’s configuration of theater seats created using twelve stacked reclaimed wood shipping pallets we spotlighted almost a year to the day ago.
